By using AltGrocery ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to comply with them. The Service is operated by Pixel Mixel Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree, please do not use AltGrocery.

2. Description of Service

AltGrocery is a community-driven local food discovery platform that helps people connect with farmers, markets, indie grocers, restaurants, and food producers.

Our services include:

Interactive map of local food businesses
Community recommendations & seasonal guides
Event listings and campaigns
Business profiles & directory services
QR code creation and tracking
Gamified engagement with XP, badges, and challenges
Analytics and insights for business users

3. User Accounts

Certain features require an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and up-to-date information
Keep your login secure
Be responsible for all activity under your account
Notify us immediately if your account is compromised

4. Community Guidelines

AltGrocery is built on respect and trust. You agree not to:

Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
Harass, abuse, or harm others
Violate laws or regulations
Infringe intellectual property rights
Spam or send unsolicited communications
Attempt to hack or disrupt the Service
Post offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content

5. Business Listings

Business owners may claim and manage their listings. By doing so, you confirm that:

You are authorized to represent the business
All information you provide is accurate and current
You will keep your listing updated
You comply with applicable laws and regulations

6. Content & Intellectual Property

You own the content you submit, but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and share it to operate the Service.

The AltGrocery platform, including design, features, and technology, is owned by Pixel Mixel Inc. and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

7. Privacy & Data Usage

Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Key points:

No sale of your personal contact info — name, email, phone are not used for recommendations or sold to third parties.
Location data — used only for quality assurance, relevant recommendations, and fraud prevention. No precise location history is stored.
Anonymous data — aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns may be shared to improve recommendations and platform features.
Business analytics — anonymous engagement metrics may be shared with businesses you follow.
Campaign & gamification data — interactions with campaigns, QR scans, XP progress, and achievements may be visible to other users or followed businesses.

You can change your privacy settings or unfollow businesses at any time to stop data sharing.

8. Premium Features & Payment

AltGrocery offers both free and premium features. Premium features may include:

Advanced analytics
Enhanced marketing tools
Priority support
Additional customization

Payment terms are shown at purchase. Unless otherwise stated, all fees are non-refundable.

9. Disclaimers

AltGrocery is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of business information, which may be provided by businesses or community members.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pixel Mixel Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms or act in a way that harms other users or the platform.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-platform notification. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes will be handled in Canadian courts.
